In this essay I am going to mention some cities which have the underground train systems.

London has underground train systems. It was opened in 1863. It is the longest with 394 kilometers. It carried a large number of people, 77 million in 2010. On the other hand also Paris has an underground train system. It was opened in 1900 with 199 kilometers of length. These trains carried 192 million people in 2010. Tokyo also opened underground train system in 1927 with 155 kilometers of length. It carried 192 million passengers in 2010. Kyoto as well has established an underground train system in 1981 with the shortest distance of 11 kilometers. In addition it carried 45 million passengers in 2010. The last city is Boston which was opened an underground train system in 2001. The distance is 28 kilometers.  It carried 50 million passengers in 2010.

London has the oldest and longest system at all. Tokyo carried the most passengers.

Argument essay about smoking

Smoking is a widespread phenomenon in the world, much of the main reasons for the many diseases to humans. There are many people who live around me smoke and down and claim that he relaxes the brain and nerve guides. Let me never the positive points

Some people believe that smoking is doing a lot of positive things such as peace of mind on a long and arduous, as well as smoking is usually convenient for the physical and psychological stress. With so much smoke in the designated areas as prisoners only to modify temperament. Tobacco is the source of livelihood of millions of poor people who manufactured and distributed.

Now let me talk about the negative points of smoking, first and not least, smoking is a major cause of many serious diseases like cancer of the lung and heart disease and other chronic diseases, and that was enough to be this tool very damaging to humans. And also people who smoke in public places and in front of their children which leads to corruption of the next generation and their addiction to things that are injurious. In addition, smoking is the loss of money and a waste of time.

congestion

Like many cities worldwide A.D. suffers from traffic congestion and parking problems. This essay examines the causes and the possible solutions to the problem.

There is no doubt that the increase in population is one of the main causes of congestion. As a result, the number of cars is increasing. Another cause of congestion is the progress of civilization and the large number of buildings. Car prices in the state are affordable for the whole community, so that makes people here in the country buy more than one car and this makes the traffic. In addition, the fuel price is low and cheaper compared with other countries. More drivers are young people and that means accidents and more hold-ups.

One of the solutions to crisis is expansion of the street this keep pace with population growth. Also we should determine the number of cars per household. New buildings should have adequate parking provided.

Finally, I think strategic plans must be done to reduce the congestion. My opinion the establishment of railways in all parts of the country to facilitate movement and reduce car use, would result in low congestion and fewer accidents.

Censorship

Oversight is the subject of controversy and raises strong feelings in all parts of the world. What are the pros and cons?

 Oversight is an important column is based on the government to stop the greedy people in taking their personal illegally. There are many styles that it may have some people to steal the ideas of society and reflected negatively on them the direction of their country to take what they want to take it as is happening in the Arab countries in recent times. Here, the role of government to effectively curb this phenomenon is the work of adequate control on all media.  On the other hand, there are some threats faced by governments are free to express their opinion and give researchers and critics of freedom of expression and thought here may distort the community and turns in the negative thoughts. the death penalty

  Many countries in the world has the death penalty system, but others, such as Britain, have abolished it. What are the pros and cons of the death penalty?

  Injustice, is one of the main reasons that can be harsh on the negative point of people sentenced to death. Because not all of them may be criminals and are charged with murder or oppression or any other reason. On the other hand there are people who are criminals deserve death of what they did the crime and murder. Another argument in favor is that in these days, with DNA evidence, there is very little chance of wrongful conviction. Finally, there is at the expense of looking after the killers for a long time in prison, why should taxpayers hard work that bill?

If the assassin had been killed and forgave him the judge would kill again, here we can say should we all deliberate killer to death to be an example to others as a solution strictly for criminals.
 
There are some moral arguments against the death penalty, but in my opinion, as well as the pros above, and penalties in the end is a powerful deterrent to all potential aggressors.

Mobiles

There are many researchers say that using a mobile phone while driving causes many accidents.

 There are two sides to each case as usual, for the side is the importance of using a mobile phone on a daily basis in some situations such as the need for travel off the phone in which it is necessary to use the phone and ask for help. The mobile shortcut in many cases entitled to the conversation and where the distance moving closer to the phone. In addition to new phones with many of the techniques that limiting availability to the user much time, such as e-mail, chat clerical and imaging and data transfer via Bluetooth. In the interview, the driver is not permitted to use the phone or talk while driving because it could be an accident and the damage is not only the driver but also for the drivers in place. There are many countries apply the law to prevent the driver from using the telephone while driving. This law will set the drivers and save them the risk of serious accidents. There are benefits for the two cases, but must be taken either in my mind and realistic. In my opinion, must be put strict laws for those who talk while driving, at the same time may not be denied that the phone drivers to ensure their safety.

Reflection 3

In the second semester we focused on two types of writing which are the description of graphs and problem & solution. I am going to present what I have learned from both.

In relation to the description of graphs, we started by a chart with some information, and described the numbers as sentences. First, we did the single pies moving to double pies. After that we did bar charts, like the data-producing countries. Finally we did tables of information such as hurricanes & tornadoes. The point that we have learned is how to describe charts and tables information and translate them to a complete and clear paragraph.

On the other hand problem & solution was a little bit different. We did this type of writing by 4 paragraphs. the first one should be the introduction and the second; talking about the causes of the problem then the next one it’s about the possible solution and finally the conclusion. This type of essay is giving us the experience of how to analyze problems and give solutions by expressing and that Gives the student the freedom to speak and debate.

Global Warming

In this essay I am going to discuss some causes and effects of global warming, which is making a huge problem in the earth.

The rise of air temperatures near Earth's surface over the past century is known as global warming. It is the result of increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which are trapping heat inside the atmosphere.

Global warming is caused by two elements which include man-made causes and natural causes. Natural causes come with a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas and a very dangerous gas to our environment .Also there are man-made causes  and these effects are the most damaging to our planet. One of the worst man-made factors is pollution.

The consequences of global warming   is the melting of large parts of Antarctica, which will lead to a rise in sea level and thus the sinking of large parts of the tropical islands and low lying coastal areas.  It will also Increase the rate of spread of diseases such as malaria and cholera because of the migration of insect vectors. Some reservoirs may dry up if temperature increases, especially if rainfall also decreases. Rising sea levels may pollute fresh groundwater supplies with salt water .Global warming is one of the dangers that threaten life on Earth's surface, which requires making legal and technical measures to preserve the environment.


Finally, people are searching for different, or alternative, sources of energy to power their vehicles, so reducing energy use is seen as a key solution to the problem of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We need to cooperate in order to reduce global warming, by maintaining the rainforest and reducing consumption of fossil fuels. In addition we should use air filters in the chimneys of factories  and adapters. According to the International Energy Agency, improved energy efficiency in buildings, industrial processes and transportation could reduce the world's energy needs in 2050 by one third. In my opinion using alternative sources is the best solution to reduce global warming which threatens human life. There are a lot of ways we could solve this problem but it is not going to be easy.

These two pie charts show the types of gifts that man and women in the USA buy for each other on 14th February, Valentine’s day.

As we know that men and women are usually share different kinds of gifts on The Valentine’s day.
The most populat gift that men and women buy is card with 18% for men and 27% for women. Mens are more than women is buying flower and that is written with 16% for men, while 11% for women However,  more women, 27%, buy cards than men, 18%. Rather surprisingly, more women, around a fifth, buy candy for men than vice versa.  Both men and women are equal in purchase jewelry/jewellery with 10%. More than twice women buy perfume or cologne than Men. Men spend more than women on both lingerie and spa/personal care, which is probably what you’d expect.

In conclusion, In my opinion that the proposed rates is realistic

Top Ten Date-Producing Countries, 2001

Ten Countries are in 2001. They are Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libia, Oman, Pakistan, saudi Arabia, Sudan and The UAE. They have different levels of annual production in tonnes.
 First, I am going to talk about the biggest producer. which is Egypt. It recorded one million and one hundred thousand tonnes in 2001. The second highest number was Iran that made nine hundred thousand tonnes. Then comes the UAE with seven hundred thousand tonnes. Saudi Arabia is is less than The UAE with around ten thousand tonnes. Libya and Sudan each accounted for less than 200 000 tonnes in 2001. The difference between Egypt and Libya is one million tonnes .

In summary, date production was most abundout in Egypt and Iran and least plentiful in Libya and Sudan.

UK Budget: where the money goes

This pie chart shows money spent by the UK government in 1996. I am going to tell you about the UK budget and where money went. The UK budget spent 315 billion and this money goes to many and different departments Health and personal Social services is given 53  billion. While the law and order is given 17 billion. The Education is the third  highest spending and took 38 billion, while the lawest spending was the accorded  for Industry, Agriculture and Employment. Dept interest was 25 billion and other expenditure was about 23 billion. Housing, Heritage and environment cost around 15 billion. The highest value in money spending was by Social Security at 100 billion.
In this chart we may conclude that the highest cost was the Social security, While the lawest cost was the transport.

Journey to Niah Caves

A Journey from Brunei to Sarawak Thirty years ago, Hedley, with his wife Mary and daughter Katie visited the Niah Caves in Sarawak, East Malaysia. They travelled by car, ferry, and boat.

They set off from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei and drove to the border with Sarawak. They crossed two large rivers by ferry, stopped in Miri for lunch and then continued to Niah, a small river township. Then they hired a small boat and sailed upriver to a government rest house, where they spent the night. They ate with the small group of scientists who lived in the rest house and shared the cold drinks they had brought with them in a cool box. It was a remote spot, deep in the jungle. They slept in bunk beds with no air-conditioning. It was a novel experience.

The next morning, they walked along a jungle path for half an hour until they reached the Niah caves. Inside the caves, which were very high, they saw men who climbed up tall bamboo poles. The men wore lights on their hats because it was so dark. At the top of the poles they scraped off birds’ nests from the roof of the caves. The nests were collected by their mates on the cave floor and packed into sacks. These nests were later sold and made into bird’s nest soup, a Chinese delicacy. 

 That afternoon, they said goodbye to their new-found friends in the rest house and set off on the long drive home. It was quite an adventure and one they would never forget.

Reflection on process writing

When the task is to describe a process using the passive voice/mood, we must use the present passive.

This is formed by using is or are with the past participle, e.g.

Orange juice is stored in a fridge.

The oranges are transported in trucks to the factory.

If we fail to use the passive when we are specifically asked to do so, we are dropped a quarter band, which can mean the difference between passing & failing.

How to change a tyre

 I will explain to you the steps to change a tyre if you have encountered a puncture.


After stoppng and parking in a safe place, the wheelnuts are loosened. Then the car is jacked up. Then the nuts and the wheel are removed. After that the spare wheel is put on. Then the nuts are tightened and the car is lowed. the nuts are tightened again. Finally, you tools are packed away.


In my opinion women should be tought how to change a tyre.  In addition traffice should include lessons in how to change a tyre when people are getting the liceane.

How to make butter

 

In every place in the world we  need to have milk; however not everyone  knows how to make butter . I am going to talk about how to make it.

Firstly, you need to check the fresh milk quality and fat content. Then you should leave the milk to cool. After that, separate the cream and churn it. After separation drain the buttermilk from the butter and place it in a jar. After this step, wash the butter with cold water and that comes to remove remaining buttermilk. Then add a small amount of salt for flavor. In addition cut and wrap the butter and finally store the butter in a fridge.

I prefer the butter especially when I am alone at home and I believe it is a benefit for me to learn about food.

Reflection

My writing

I am going to talk about my bad writing. I am in the college three years ago. I came to college without any language skill. Although I started the foundation without any background about English, but I learned many things in the language such as learned how to write a correct sentence.

I started foundation in 2006. I was encouraged to learn English. I liked teachers teaching, because it is different from teaching in high school and before that. My English teacher Tracy gave me a lot of information and she taught me how to make a letter, formal letter, informal letter and Email.  In the second year I didn’t improve my writing skill and the writing was going harder, so that my grades were going down. I haven’t kept my concentration in writing.

I am grateful to my college and teachers, because they tought me from the beginning step by step. I hope to be better the future.

Desert Trip

       The desert is one of the most important places to visit and mostly in winter by the Arabs. But in addition tourists usually go to the desert if they are in any Arab country in particular. Because it is one of the important customs, including where our ancestors were born and lived. The desert is a place for peace of mind because it is characterized by calm and oases.

To go to the desert with family or friends there are conditions to do so.
First, you should prepare food and supplies, tent accommodation, electricity, lighting, and four wheel drive vehicle. Some people believe that the desert is free and can easily be commanded, but this is untrue, because there are lots of twists and surprise depressions. Before starting the trip you must make sure of the safety of the tires and check the car at the dealership.

There are several factors which make the desert a beautiful place: however, be careful and take into account of the timing and take the necessary equipment to make sure there is no problem and enjoy the time.
